Sand, Gravel, Rocks, Topsoil, Compost and Landscaping Mulch
We have two screening plants to produce sand, gravel, rocks, topsoil and compost.
We stock many varieties of sand such as, pipe bedding sand, masonry sand, NS Power approved sand for buried electrical wire, concrete sand, sewer sand and winter sand for ice traction.
We also carry bulk salt for winter ice control.
Rock sizes are from 3/8-inch pea gravel to 4-foot boulders, and some are different types and color for landscaping.
We have Mink and Seafood compost.
All Topsoil is screened at 1/2-inch to remove debris and rocks. We have regular topsoil for lawns or topsoil with 15% compost for added organics.

We also have natural, black and red landscaping mulch (wood chips)
Customers can pick up any of the above or we can deliver in loads of 3 cubic yards or more, as we have various sizes of delivery trucks.
Clean Wood Heat Energy
Spec Resources Inc provides “Wood Heat Energy Service” in Yarmouth, Digby, and Annapolis counties to Municipal, Provincial, and Institutional large heat consumers (not residential).

Waste Management Services
We process by-products of the local mink pelt industry and seafood by-products from local salmon aquaculture, fish plants and lobster processing firms.
Most of our organics are from seafood processors of which most are lobster shells.
These organics are mixed with wood chips and processed in our Composting Facility which is regulated by Nova Scotia Environment.
We also produce 100% pure mink oil from the mink processing waste, most of which is shipped to the United States.
Rental and Storage Solutions
We have over 160,000 square feet of buildings that were converted for storage. Some are used for storing dry woodchips and construction materials, as well as winter storage for RV’s, campers, boats, cars, motorcycles etc…
We also rent staging, concrete drills, concrete saws, concrete vibrators, concrete forms, plate compactors, water pumps etc…

The store is stocked with items such as nuts & bolts, wedge anchors, safety supplies, batteries, paint supplies, rakes & shovels, and we also have some inventory of aluminum & steel angles, flat, channel, etc… and more.
Excavation/Site Work
We have excavators ranging from 1.7 tonnes to 23 tonnes for excavation and site work.
We have a QP11 on staff to select the proper design for residential On-Site Sewer Systems, including installation, inspection and permit application for approval from Nova Scotia Environment.
We are a certified Well Digger and member of NSWDA (Nova Scotia Well Diggers Association)
We build woods roads, driveways, drainage, residential site work and small commercial projects.
Precast Concrete
We can build concrete ballast or anchors of any sizes or weights.
We have concrete blocks which saddles water supply pipes from the ocean to seafood processing plants.
We can also supply concrete sewer tanks, well rings, retaining wall blocks etc.
